About this grant
The program goal is to build the capacity for effective community, national, and regional responses to the massive influx of refugees and migrants to the Western Balkans and Europe. To this end, Group 484 will cooperate with the Serbian government, international aid agencies, and other local nonprofits to provide humanitarian and other assistance to refugees passing through Serbia; develop and implement local-level programming that empowers and engages young people in building an open and inclusive society; and engage with peer organizations at the national and European levels to promote better policies and practices related to refugees and migration. With 20 years’ experience in the field, the grantee is one of the leading nonprofits in the Western Balkans working on refugee and migration issues. During the grant period, the grantee will also focus on building its organizational capacities for research, advocacy, and outreach and strengthen its European-level partnerships and networking. The grantee was established in 1996 and is based in Belgrade.
