About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen philanthropy and encourage civic participation in Kosovo by supporting the programmatic and organizational development of the Forum for Civic Initiatives, an indigenous grantmaking organization based in Pristina, Kosovo. During the next three years, the grantee will aim to distribute more than 160 grants totaling approximately $545,000 to community-based nonprofits in Kosovo. The grantee will also facilitate multisector community dialogue on key issues of sustainable development, provide networking and training opportunities to its grantees and other community-based nonprofits, and promote philanthropy at local and national levels. During the grant period, the grantee will pay particular attention to building its organizational capacities and sustainability through staff training, regional networking, long-term financial planning, and diversification of its funding base. The grantee is a member of the South-East-Europe Indigenous Grantmakers Network, which includes grantmakers in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro.
