About this grant

The project goal is to promote and develop venture philanthropy and social entrepreneurship in Central and Eastern Europe. To this end, the European Venture Philanthropy Association will increase the knowledge and understanding of the various forms of venture philanthropy in the region; support the development of pilot venture philanthropy funds in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, and Serbia; and explore opportunities to create venture philanthropy funds in cooperation with local philanthropists in other countries in the region. In addition, during the grant period, the grantee will seek additional funding for future expansion of the project. The grantee was established in 2004 and today has 214 members in 29 countries, which include social investors, private equity firms, foundations, consultancy companies, academic institutions, and financial institutions. The grantee is based in Brussels, Belgium.
