About this grant

The project goal is to promote and develop venture philanthropy and social entrepreneurship in the Central and Eastern Europe region. To this end, the European Venture Philanthropy Association will increase the knowledge and understanding of the various forms of venture philanthropy in the region and explore opportunities to create venture philanthropy funds in cooperation with local philanthropists in the CEE region. In addition, during the grant period, the grantee will seek additional funding for future expansion of the project. The grantee was established in 2004 and today has 214 members in 29 countries, which include social investors, private equity firms, foundations, consultancy companies, academic institutions, and financial institutions. The grantee provides online and offline services to its members, including information, training, and networking opportunities. In addition, the grantee promotes good practice in venture philanthropy and engages policymakers in discussions on issues relevant to philanthropy and social impact investment. The grantee is based in Brussels, Belgium.
