About this grant

The Northeast-Midwest Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the economic and environmental health of the northeast and midwest regions of the United States. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., and with staff based in Michigan, the grantee provides data, research, and policy analysis to inform state and federal freshwater policy reforms and programs. This grant will support the development of a new research and policy program aimed at protecting the safety of drinking water. The grantee will also help Great Lakes citizens’ groups and municipalities assess the environmental and public health impacts of local water infrastructure decisions. In addition, the grantee will take steps to build its organizational capacity, with a focus on board development activities.
