About this grant

This grant supports the Council on Foundations’ Global Philanthropy Program, which is framed around four pillars of activity: 1) effective cross-border grantmaking, 2) policy and regulation of cross-border grantmaking, 3) global conversations and convening, and 4) developing global resources and thought leadership. Over the past 18 months, the grantee maintained a library of resources on international grantmaking on its website, worked with partners on the Financial Action Task Force’s recommendations affecting philanthropy, kept members aware of changing international regulations that impact cross-border philanthropic flows, held global conferences on a variety of topics including Sustainable Development Goals, hosted delegations of foreign philanthropic actors, and served on several global advisory boards. During the upcoming grant period, the grantee will continue to enhance and expand upon the four activity pillars. Founded in 1949, the Council on Foundations is a membership organization of private, community, and corporate foundations, primarily in the United States.
