About this grant

The program goal is to increase the level and impact of individual philanthropy in Central and Eastern Europe. To this end, Funding Network, a giving circle based in the U.K., will strengthen the capacity of its current partner organizations in the region and establish partnerships with new organizations interested in starting similar giving circles in their countries. More specifically, the grantee will provide information, technical assistance, and mentoring and facilitate international contacts and exchanges among its partners. The grantee will also publish and disseminate success stories and lessons learned from the development of these giving circles in Central and Eastern Europe. With this grant increase, the grantee will partner with another Mott grantee, the U.S.-based Johnson Center for Philanthropy, to assess the impact of its giving circle model in Central and Eastern Europe. Established in London in 2002 by a group of private philanthropists with the mission to increase the level, scope, and impact of charitable giving, the grantee now works in 15 countries around the world.
