About this grant

The Charity & Security Network helps nonprofit organizations promote and protect their ability to carry out programs that support peace and human rights, aid civilians in areas of disaster and armed conflict, and build democratic governance. The grantee does this by 1) convening stakeholders and sponsoring dialogue; 2) promoting legal frameworks based on protecting the positive contribution civil society makes to human security; and 3) coordinating advocacy to support national security rules that respect the work of legitimate civil society organizations. During the grant period, the grantee plans to focus on ensuring nonprofit organizations’ financial access to the international banking system, guarding against any new restrictions that may be placed on United States nonprofits, and assisting with the implementation of revised guidance to nonprofit organizations around the world by the Financial Action Task Force. The Charity & Security Network is a project of NEO Philanthropy, a funder intermediary launched in 1983 as Public Interest Projects.
