Afterschool Policy and System Building Initiative

About this grant

This grant to the Alaska Children’s Trust will enable the Alaska Statewide Afterschool Network, to increase the availability of high quality afterschool programs and summer programs in Alaska. Through this grant, grantee will focus on supporting a policy initiative that will seek to increase access to afterschool programs. This grant will: 1) support the development and implementation of a statewide education campaign on the need for afterschool in Alaska; 2) provide technical assistance to partners on how to engage key stakeholders; and 3) build a network of afterschool champions in the state. The grantee will share lessons learned with other state networks in strengthening an existing afterschool system to enhance quality and access for disadvantaged students.
