About this grant
The Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group, a project of the Tides Center, is a network of organizations and individuals funding development work in Africa. Since 2000, the grantee has worked to promote robust, effective, and responsive philanthropy to benefit African communities. Their goal is to build a network of informed funders who understand the current trends, can implement sound strategies, and identify key points of leverage. The grantee has led the establishment of the Africa Philanthropy Support Organizations initiative, a communications effort to connect funder networks based inside and outside of Africa. This grant increase will support the grantee’s efforts to bring together networks of funders inside and outside Africa by hosting events and producing communication material. In addition, this grant will support activities planned in the lead up to the 20th Anniversary of the Africa Grantmakers’ Affinity Group.
