About this grant
This project will support the World Wildlife Fund and its partner, World Wildlife Fund Brazil, to continue working on a national program for solar energy for forest-dwelling communities living in sustainable development reserves in the Amazon. Over the past grant period, the grantee built important partnerships with key government agencies and the private sector to advance national public policy for distributed renewable electrification for traditional forest communities in the Brazilian Amazon. Over the next grant period, the grantee and World Wildlife Fund Brazil will strengthen their networks, monitor and disseminate the findings from off-grid solar access models, and work at the local, national, and regional levels to promote policies for replication of renewable energy access for isolated forest peoples.
