About this grant

The Entrepreneurship Management and Development Foundation (IMED) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help young entrepreneurs in Tanzania launch and grow successful enterprises. Tanzania’s national electric grid reaches very few people, with a very small percent of its rural populations having access to electricity. To reach the rural areas, it is crucial that entrepreneurs are provided with adequate training and mentoring to develop these businesses. With prior Mott support, the grantee developed a training program for the off-grid, clean energy sector. With renewed support, the grantee will refine and expand the program, supporting more clean energy entrepreneurs through a variety of services, including financing and other tools.
