About this grant
The project goal is to promote community philanthropy in Brazil. Based on its prior research, the Institute for the Development of Social Investment will develop a strategic plan for the creation of community foundations in Brazil. The project will be broken down into four components. The first component is to meet with consultants that have experience in the community foundation field to enhance the grantee’s knowledge. The second is to meet with local philanthropic institutions to identify the challenges and opportunities of the community foundation model. The third is to engage investors and leverage local resources for community foundations. The fourth is to create a development plan for community foundations in Brazil. Founded in 1999, the Institute for the Development of Social Investment is a philanthropy service organization that promotes private social investment and strategic philanthropy, primarily in Brazil but also throughout Latin America, and it is an affiliate of the Charities Aid Foundation Global Alliance.
