About this grant
The Africa Philanthropy Network is a continent-wide network of grantmaking and other philanthropic organizations working in Africa. The grantee was established in 2009 to promote learning and networking among philanthropy actors in the continent. Past support enabled the grantee to advance philanthropy in Africa by: 1) facilitating learning among its members through various platforms and events; 2) bringing the voice of African philanthropy to the broader philanthropy sector by connecting the network to the global philanthropy ecosystem; and 3) supporting efforts to build knowledge on philanthropy in Africa. This grant will enable the grantee to continue supporting the development of philanthropy in Africa by connecting organizations, hosting learning events for members, profiling philanthropy in Africa and generating knowledge on the sector. In addition, the Africa Philanthropy Network will strengthen its institutional capacity and increase its membership.
