About this grant

Founded in 1978, the Indian Law Resource Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of indigenous peoples in North, Central and South America. During the last grant period, the grantee began advancing a strengthened indigenous people safeguard policy at international financial institutions and building a dialogue between Amazon indigenous networks and public financial institutions. During the next grant period, the grantee will focus on strengthening the indigenous peoples’ safeguard at regional and national development banks in the Americas and providing legal analysis to help indigenous people in Roraima, Brazil, develop industrial wind power potential in their territory.
