Engaging Afterschool Programs in Geography, Exploration and Science

About this grant

This grant will support the National Geographic Society on their continuation of reaching the afterschool field through innovative and interactive field learning and online experiences for youth and afterschool educators. The grantee will focus on building capacity for long-term success to advance afterschool and summer learning in the afterschool field. The specific initiatives will include: 1) build leadership and capacity in the sciences by expanding professional development opportunities for afterschool educators; 2) increase access to enriching and unique high-quality learning experiences for youth in the afterschool setting; and 3) expand engagement and participation by creating a more robust marketing strategy through partnerships and network supports.
