About this grant
The program goal is to ensure and increase active participation of civil society-based justice practitioners in research, advocacy, and implementation of access to justice goals under Sustainable Development Goal 16. The Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies is a multi-stakeholder platform, convened by the governments of Brazil, Sierra Leone, and Switzerland and the New York University’s Center on International Cooperation. As part of advocacy efforts around United Nations High-level Political Forums to be held in 2019 and which will assess progress in achieving respectively Goal 16 and the broader Agenda 2030, the grantee will work to engage civil society organizations in contributing data and evidence on justice needs and grassroots responses to these needs globally. The grantee will also produce an analytical paper exploring the case for investing in civil society-based justice providers. Finally, they will ensure that civil society actors have platforms to participate prominently in regional and global meetings and events leading up to the High-level Political Forums.
