About this grant
For over a decade, the Council of State Governments has brought together state and provincial policymakers from the Great Lakes region to learn about key issues affecting the lakes, exchange information and ideas, and build their capacity to be effective leaders and stewards of the lakes. The forum for this work is the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus, which includes over 200 members representing all eight Great Lakes states, and two Canadian provinces. The grantee will educate policymakers and convene them to share information and lessons from neighboring jurisdictions. New for the grantee is its Institute for Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Policy, an intensive learning program that takes policymakers on a “deep dive” into a single issue.
