About this grant
The University of the Witwatersrand was established to provide high-quality, internationally competitive education, founded on high academic standards, cutting-edge research, public engagement and productive partnerships with leading institutions throughout the world. The Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment, based at the business school, was established to bridge the gap in the study, research and practice of philanthropy in Africa. Past support has enabled the center to conduct research on several topics related to African philanthropy, develop curriculum for the academic programs and host events on topics relevant to philanthropy in Africa. This grant will support the center to deliver academic and certificate programs, conduct research and generate data on philanthropy in Africa, produce publications and build its capacity to deliver programs on a virtual platform.
