Afterschool Policy and System Building Initiative

About this grant

This grant to the Public School Forum of North Carolina will enable the North Carolina Statewide Afterschool Network to continue the development of new policy initiatives and strategic partnerships to expand high-quality afterschool opportunities for youth in underserved rural communities. This project will: 1) increase the number of high-quality afterschool programs in rural communities; 2) provide professional development opportunities to rural partners to strengthen the quality of afterschool programs; and 3) implement a comprehensive policy initiative statewide to increase the awareness, value, and impact of high-quality afterschool programs. The grantee will share lessons learned with other state networks to enhance the policy and quality initiatives within their communities and states.
