Afterschool Policy and System Building Initiative

About this grant

This grant to United Ways of Tennessee will enable the Tennessee Statewide Afterschool Network to increase the capacity of afterschool programs to address the opioid crisis. This project will: 1) support the development and implementation of a statewide education and communications campaign on the value of afterschool; 2) provide professional development to support afterschool programs around prevention and intervention of opioid use; and 3) build a network of afterschool champions in the state. The grantee will share lessons learned with other state networks in addressing these challenges in support of children in afterschool programs.
