About this grant
The European Foundation Centre is an independent membership association of foundations and corporate funders dedicated to promoting organized philanthropy in Europe and internationally. In 2019-2020, the grantee carried out a wide range of activities, including organizing an annual general assembly and conference in Paris in 2019 and a 30th anniversary event online in 2020. The grantee also organized learning and networking events for members and worked with the Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe to support an enabling environment for philanthropy in Europe. In 2021–2022, the grantee will focus on providing intellectual leadership on emerging policy agendas and societal trends that will impact institutional philanthropy, fostering connections within philanthropy and with external actors, providing a voice for European institutional philanthropy and developing a new membership strategy. Established in 1989 by seven of Europe’s leading foundations, the European Foundation Centre serves a core membership of over 190 members.
