About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen the capacity of nonprofits to recognize intersections with digital rights and policies and to engage in relevant digital rights policy advocacy. During the grant period, Stanford University’s Digital Civil Society Lab, led by Dr. Lucy Bernholz, will build on its robust assessment of the landscape and the resources it has created with the goal of connecting this work with nonprofits across the sector. To this end, the lab will work with its community of current and past fellows, which include 30 individuals across Europe, North America, Africa, Latin America and Australia and build relationships with other fellows programs. These fellows will be supported to disseminate and continue to build tools and resources for the sector. During the previous grant period, the grantee created six learning modules designed to help address digital issues that are core to the missions and activities of nonprofit organizations in the digital age. In creating and disseminating these tools, Stanford University’s Digital Civil Society Lab organized 14 learning events and workshops with more than 120 nonprofit representatives.
