Fiscal Solvency and Service Effectiveness Project

About this grant

This grant continues support for Michigan State University’s efforts to document and promote solutions that help America’s older industrial cities address chronic fiscal stress. During the renewal grant period, the grantee will develop a range of potential scenarios for addressing structural deficits and assess the feasibility of each scenario with a particular focus on legal and political implications. The City of Flint and Flint Community Schools will remain a focus for the planned research activities, as well as a beneficiary of technical assistance efforts.
