About this grant

This grant will allow the Puerto Rico Funders Network to continue its mission to strengthen philanthropy and the nonprofit sector in Puerto Rico. A current high priority for the network is to improve and expand Puerto Rico’s philanthropy infrastructure as the commonwealth continues its recovery efforts following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. During this grant period, the grantee will continue to support collaborative efforts among foundations and community-based organizations, enhance the capacity of community-based organizations, advocate for policy alternatives to promote the resilience of organizations serving vulnerable groups, and engage more philanthropic actors in effective responses to Puerto Rico’s recovery. Established in 2009 by seven leading foundations, the grantee exists to enhance the ability of philanthropy and nonprofit organizations to improve the lives of vulnerable populations.
