About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen philanthropy by building a learning community of strategic African philanthropists and social investors committed to inclusive development in Africa. To this end, the African Philanthropy Forum will support efforts to respond to systemic issues on the continent, convene members to build a strong community of practice and provide practical tools to enhance their giving. In addition, the grantee will continue to grow its membership, produce and disseminate new knowledge on philanthropy in the continent and improve its member database. To date, the grantee has reached over 2,500 philanthropists and social investors from 14 countries across Africa. Past support enabled the African Philanthropy Forum to increase membership, build platforms that provide useful information to members, host conferences and other learning events, and conduct research that benefits the sector.
