Affinity Group of National Associations

About this grant

The program goal is to strengthen the capacity of national and regional associations of civil society organizations globally. The Affinity Group of National Associations, a network which currently has 86 members from around the world, is managed by CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation. Over the past three years, the grantee has strengthened the coordination team for the affinity group, increased engagement of members, revised and reviewed membership criteria, built capacity among members to work with social movements and new forms of civic engagement, facilitated peer-to-peer learning among members on a range of issues and practice areas, and better aligned the affinity group’s work with the grantee’s initiatives. During the grant period, the grantee will increase members’ ability to amplify the voices of their constituencies and partners, strengthen the capacity of members to act as national and regional secretariats, and broaden collaboration and alliances across the membership around key civic space issues. CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance established in 1993 to strengthen citizen action and civil society worldwide.
