About this grant
The goal of the project is to strengthen philanthropy in Africa by connecting the field and promoting learning. The Africa Philanthropy Network is a continent-wide network of grantmaking and other philanthropic organizations in Africa. It brings together foundations, intermediary grantmakers and practitioners from across Africa to learn, generate new knowledge and give voice to philanthropy. Previous support has enabled the grantee to support members to navigate the changes that were brought about by the pandemic, host learning events on a variety of topics relevant to members, produce knowledge that benefits the sector and connect the field in Africa to the global philanthropy field. In addition, the Africa Philanthropy Network has worked closely with other similar organizations to strengthen the ecosystem of philanthropy in Africa. During the next two years, the grantee will continue to strengthen networking and collaboration, connect Africa to the larger philanthropy ecosystem and contribute to the knowledge generated about philanthropy in Africa.
