About this grant
The program goal is to support a robust information space for philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the most prominent information source for the sector in the United States, is undergoing a process to revise its business model to enhance its financial sustainability. Acting as a fiscal sponsor, Philanthropy New York is overseeing a project that will include audience research followed by product evaluation, prototype development and testing, and product launch. Founded in 1988 and published by the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Chronicle of Philanthropy is an independent national media outlet covering all aspects of philanthropy and charitable organizations. Its website offers news updates, the complete contents of a printed monthly issue, and more than seven years of archived articles and data. Philanthropy New York was founded in 1979 in order to enhance the ability of philanthropic organizations and individual donors in the New York City region to serve the public good.
