About this grant
The primary goal of the Nonprofit Employment Data Project is to develop and disseminate reports on U.S. nonprofit employment, wages and finances over time and in relation to other industries. During the previous grant period, the previous grantee, Johns Hopkins University, produced annual reports, developed an interactive data dashboard and produced monthly COVID-19 employment updates. The new grantee, George Mason University’s Nonprofit Center, will continue these project activities as well as incorporate additional data systems and explore the creation of a network of federal officials working on nonprofit data. The grantee was originally founded in 1949 as a branch of the University of Virginia, and it became an independent university in 1972. George Mason University is an innovative and inclusive academic institution committed to creating a more just, free and prosperous society.
