About this grant
The Socioeconomic Rights Project of the Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights at the University of the Western Cape will organize participation of access to justice institutions in sub-Saharan Africa at the United Nations High-level Political Forum in July 2019. The Forum meets every year during July to discuss the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. During 2019, the implementation of Goal 16 will be discussed at the Forum. Goal 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development; provide access to justice for all; and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. This increase will allow the grantee to organize a side event at the High-level Political Forum in New York and to participate in various international preparatory meetings scheduled in the lead-up to the Forum.
