About this grant

The Interamerican Association for Environmental Defense is a nonprofit environmental law and policy organization in Latin America and the United States. The grantee’s attorneys participate in regional and international processes to guide sustainable energy and infrastructure investments in Latin America. Over the previous grant period, the grantee worked on the revision of the Inter-American Development Bank Environmental and Social Framework, developed tools to protect environmental defenders and worked to improve best practices for environmental impact statements. Over the next grant period, the grantee will monitor the implementation of the new environmental social governance framework of the Inter-American Development Bank; coordinate and strengthen strategies to protect environmental defenders; and continue the analysis of international best practices for environmental impact review processes.
