About this grant
The program goal is to help address the long-standing and emerging issues facing immigrants in the Americas. Alianza Americas’ mission is to bring about a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable way of life for under-served immigrant communities living in the United States and across Mexico and Central America. During the previous grant period, this was accomplished through delegations and learning tours, partnerships across borders, building the capacity of migrant leaders and by strengthening the grantee’s communication capacity to spotlight the social inequalities immigrant communities are facing. During this grant period, the grantee will strengthen transnational networks, advocate on behalf of migrants, strengthen United States’ policy coalitions and uplift the voices of migrants. Founded in 2004 by Mexican, Central American, and Caribbean immigrant leaders, Alianza Americas is a network of over 50 members in 13 states, representing over 150,000 migrant families across the United States, with dozens of organizational partners in Mexico and Central America.
