Freshwater Lab Internship Program

About this grant

The Freshwater Lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago develops cohorts of Great Lakes leaders through an internship program for university students from diverse backgrounds. The interns are placed in organizations focused on freshwater conservation, including Mott grantees, public agencies and community-based groups primarily in the greater Chicago area. The internship program spans an academic semester and a summer session, giving students classroom training to build leadership and understanding of Great Lakes issues as well as gain practical training and networking with local professionals. With continued support, the grantee will expand the number of students participating in the program and provide mentoring to alumni of the program.
