About this grant

The Water Foundation, a California-based organization that addresses pressing water protection and restoration problems, is expanding its focus outside of California and beginning to address drinking water. Millions of people in the United States live in places where safe and affordable water is not available. Outdated and crumbling infrastructure exacerbate these challenges, and climate change further threatens drinking water supplies with harsher droughts, more violent flooding, and warmer temperatures. While foundations have responded in cases like the Flint water crisis, much more needs to be done. To address these challenges, the grantee will begin planning for a national convening of funders, grantees, and partners. In preparation for the national convening, the grantee will host or partner on four regional round tables on drinking water throughout the country over the coming year.
