About this grant

Michigan Trout Unlimited has played a preeminent and highly respected role as the conservation voice for cold-water fishery protection, and effective water resource management for several decades. Large-quantity water withdrawals in the Great Lakes states have expanded over the last decade, and threaten the state’s waters and the resources that depend on them. Additionally, the potential of Asian carp establishment in the Great Lakes poses the most severe and clear threat to the system today. Michigan Trout Unlimited will use this grant to properly educate their members in the Great Lakes region, along with partner group members, about these problems and equip them to be effective citizen advocates.
