About this grant
The Paralegal Advisory Service Institute was established in 2007 to make justice accessible to all people in Malawi. It deploys trained paralegals to provide legal education, advice and assistance in criminal and civil justice processes. Past support assisted the grantee to scale its work on both criminal and civil justice services. The grantee was also instrumental in providing justice services safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ongoing support will assist the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute to continue to ensure that due process rights are respected and upheld and that well-functioning and sustainable criminal and civil justice services are implemented in urban and rural areas of Malawi.
