About this grant
This grant will support increased access to justice for poor and marginalized people in Malawi. The Paralegal Advisory Service Institute will do this by providing timely, effective and inclusive justice services. To this extent, the grantee will use its network of paralegals and community village mediators to provide justice services throughout the northern regions of Malawi. Past support allowed the grantee to scale its work on both criminal and civil justice services, especially as Malawi is recovering from the consequences of managing COVID-19. The Paralegal Advisory Service Institute was established in 2007 to make justice accessible to all people in Malawi and deploys trained paralegals to provide legal education, advice and assistance in criminal and civil justice processes.
