About this grant
The United Nations Foundation was established in 1988 to support the goals and objectives of the United Nations. Sustainable Energy for All was set up as a United Nations initiative to promote and directly support new collaborations to address the challenges of expanding energy access, increasing energy efficiency, and growing renewable energy. Through this project, a coordinated global effort is being established to achieve the goal of universal energy access by mobilizing leaders and building effective coalitions and partnerships to fast track action and close financing gaps. This grant increase will support the expansion of the grantee’s efforts to address energy access, particularly through support and development of mini-grids.
