About this grant
The Genesee Chamber Foundation is a supporting organization of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce and is organized to receive and administer funds for educational and charitable purposes, and the public welfare of Genesee County. This grant will support the launch of the Billy Durant Society, a small diverse group of community stakeholders (universities, schools, government, entrepreneurs, and businesses) that will convene regularly to develop ideas and solutions for moving economic development forward in Flint and Genesee County. In 2019, Billy Durant Society members will travel to a city with a robust economic development system and participate in site visits and discussions on entrepreneurship and small business development. In 2020, national representatives will come to Flint to educate Billy Durant Society members about economic development and sustainable strategies that can help lead to prosperity in Flint.
