Developing Community Foundations in Colombia

About this grant

The project goal is to develop community foundations in Colombia. To this end, Evaluar Consultores S.A.S will increase the knowledge and understanding of key stakeholders about community foundations and their practice in different regions in the world, generate interest in the community foundation concept in Colombia, pilot local resource mobilization events, and develop a long-term strategy for community foundation development in Colombia. The grantee will carry out these activities in an inclusive, participatory manner and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders for the development of a community foundation movement in Colombia. The grantee is a small, private company providing consultancy services to companies, public institutions, nonprofit organizations, and international development agencies in Colombia, since its establishment in the 1980’s. Over the years, the grantee has gained deep knowledge and understanding of the context in Colombia from the grassroots in nearly every geographic region up to the national level. The grantee provides technical assistance, networking opportunities, facilitation, mentoring, and training to its clients throughout Colombia and the region. Since the beginning of 2019, and with Mott support through a Foundation Administered Project, the grantee has been working on promoting the concept and practice of community foundations in Colombia.
