About this grant
The Legal Aid Board–Sierra Leone was established in 2015 by the country’s Legal Aid Act. The main purpose of the board is to provide justice services to poor and marginalized people in Sierra Leone, who otherwise cannot afford legal services. Past support allowed the grantee to extend its justice services to two districts in Sierra Leone’s most rural regions, which are generally hard to reach. The grantee also participated in drafting Sierra Leone’s Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. This grant will allow the Legal Aid Board–Sierra Leone to continue its rural justice services and ensure justice for those who need it most in Sierra Leone.
