About this grant
The Ohio Environmental Council is a comprehensive, effective and respected environmental advocate for a healthier, more sustainable Ohio. With a Mott Foundation general purposes grant, the grantee will address four priority issues with related program teams — energy, water, land and democracy — to fulfill their overarching mission of a clean, beautiful Ohio where diverse people, innovation and natural treasures thrive. With previous support from Mott, the grantee has focused on the work of its water team, tackling invasive species, toxic algae and chemical contaminants that threaten Ohio’s waterways and drinking water with a commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. This water policy work will also continue under this new general support grant.
