About this grant
The project goal is to increase access to justice for poor and marginalized communities in Kenya. To this end, the International Commission of Jurists–Kenya Section will provide justice services through a network of paralegals to poor and marginalized people in Kenya. The grantee will also assess the structural barriers in accessing justice in Kenya and propose recommendations on how to overcome these barriers. The grantee is an autonomous national nonprofit institution established in 1959. The International Commission of Jurists – Kenya Section’s vision is that Kenya has a just, free and equitable society and its mission is to protect human rights and promote the rule of law, justice and democracy in Kenya and across Africa.
