About this grant
This grant provides renewal support to the Council on Foundations — a national philanthropic organization founded in 1949 that currently represents 846 members. The grantee’s mission is to foster an environment where philanthropy can thrive and cultivate a community of diverse and skilled philanthropic professionals and organizations who lead with integrity, serve as ethical stewards and advocate for progress. During the previous grant period, the grantee: 1) produced new knowledge products; 2) hosted peer learning communities; 3) created a Public Policy Action Network; and 4) continued advocacy for the sector. During this upcoming grant period, the Council on Foundations will focus on four key organizational goals by embracing better ways of operating, expanding philanthropy’s opportunities to thrive, building common ground and fostering a culture of trust and belonging.
