About this grant

The U.S. Water Alliance is a coalition of water utilities, consultants, environmental groups and community organizations that work together to advance a holistic approach to water management. The grantee is one of the leading organizations advancing the goal of water equity in which all communities have access to safe and affordable water regardless of race or economic status, share in the benefits of water systems and are resilient in the face of climate change and other stressors. With prior Mott Foundation support, the grantee launched the Water Equity Network which now numbers 28 member cities, including several in the Great Lakes region. With continued support, the grantee will grow and deepen the impact of the network with the aim of reaching 75 cities by 2025. The grantee will also work with network members in the Great Lakes and nationally to demonstrate how to use available federal infrastructure dollars to achieve more equitable water management outcomes. Funding will also support the U.S. Water Alliance’s signature annual event, the One Water Summit, to be held in the Great Lakes region in 2022.
