About this grant
The Charity & Security Network promotes and protects nonprofit organizations’ ability to serve communities, support peace and human rights, aid civilians in areas of disaster and armed conflict and build democratic governance. During the previous grant period, the grantee convened stakeholders, engaged in dialogue with policymakers, promoted legal frameworks that protect the positive contribution civil society makes to human security and provided legal and policy analysis on relevant issues to nonprofits, policymakers and other stakeholders. The grantee’s goals for the upcoming grant period include: analyzing and raising awareness about the criminalization of genuine nonprofit humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts; assessing and addressing the negative consequences of sanctions policy and law; improving access for nonprofits and philanthropic organizations; and countering lawfare attacks on nonprofits. The Charity & Security Network is a project of NEO Philanthropy, a funder intermediary launched in 1983 as a Public Interest Project.
