About this grant
The project goal is to develop and expand justice commitments of governments participating in the Open Government Partnership. To this end, the grantee will assist its members in developing and adhering to commitments on justice within their national action plans for open government. To support this effort, the grantee’s secretariat will pursue three areas of work with members. Through co-creation, the grantee will work with national governments and their civil society partners to identify and include innovative approaches to addressing access to justice needs within national policy frameworks. Through commitments, the grantee will share examples of effective justice plans and policies for those intending to take on new commitments. Through coalitions, the secretariat will organize an exchange on emerging practices in order to inspire uptake of justice reform more broadly among members. The Open Government Partnership currently brings together 78 national governments, along with local government and civil society partners, to promote transparency, accountability, and more responsive governance.
