About this grant
The project goal is to promote, protect and enhance civic space in the digital age. To this end, through research, analysis, technical assistance, networking and engagement with key stakeholders the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law Stichting, a nonprofit registered in the Netherlands, will build the capacity of civil society and safeguard civic space online. During the previous grant period, the grantee organized six workshops with over 70 nonprofit representatives, activists and experts, including Roma activists, representatives from the European disability network, youth organizations and human rights watchdog groups. The grantee also launched an online learning center with resources on key digital rights issues impacting civic space, built the capacity of national level groups in six countries and engaged with United Nations agencies setting civic space norms and standards. The European Center for Not-for-Profit Law Stichting is based in The Hague.
