Bridge Michigan: Michigan Environment Watch

The mission of Bridge Michigan, a project of the Center for Michigan, is to inform Michigan residents through fact-based, nonprofit, nonpartisan journalism that identifies and reports on critical issues important to civic life. Michigan and the Great Lakes basin are ground zero for some of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. While Michigan’s traditional newspapers have declined, Bridge Michigan and its environment watch segment are growing rapidly. With previous support, the grantee was instrumental in working with three other news organizations in launching the successful Great Lakes News Collaborative. This grant will support Bridge Michigan as a key member of the collaborative and increase awareness and understanding of the Great Lakes and drinking water issues through more in-depth journalism.
